Business Grant Support

You might have noticed some new logos on our website and publicity materials. That is because we are delighted to announce that Kiltti has received grant support from East Suffolk Council through the Suffolk Business Grant Scheme. The grant scheme is part of the Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) which it launched to support its Levelling Up agenda.

The grants are available to help Suffolk businesses to (1) grow and (2) become more productive, (3) to encourage innovation and (4) to become more environmentally sustainable. The maximum amount of the grant is 50% of the costs of projects which meet the eligibility criteria.

We submitted an application to the scheme for a project which we hope will help us to achieve all four of those elements. We know that the panel of people who meet to consider the awards of the grants receive lots of applications – far more than they can approve – and that they examine those applications in detail; this is, after all, taxpayers’ money that they are distributing. We very much appreciate the work that they put in to doing that.

We also know that some businesses were not successful in obtaining any grant amount for their projects, so we are very grateful to have been awarded most of what we requested. Some parts of our project involve engaging the services of other people and businesses in the local area, so most of the money (as well as more of ours) will stay in Suffolk and benefit the local economy.

We have invested an awful lot in this business and we are willing to invest more. To get this help from East Suffolk Council feels like an endorsement of our efforts and a vote of confidence in what we are trying to achieve. We will do all we can to ensure that this award contributes significantly to accomplishing the goals we have set for Kiltti and ourselves.

To those businesses that were not successful this time, please don’t give up; get some feedback, learn from it and try again, look for other help that is out there and, above all, keep believing in what you are doing.

And, to the decision panel members at East Suffolk Council we say thank you for your diligence and for believing in us.
